Section 47
hello im wondering if anyone can help me out,
im being charged with section 47 .. so is my sister in law
the reason for this is because my brother got involved with a prostitue left his wife and children, and started going into business with this prostitue, things turned sour between me and my brother when he let her treat the family like ****,and she tried to throw me out the car while my brother was driving, cut along story short she made threats to me and my family and my blind sister, and one night she was on her own ( the prostitue ) and me and my sister in law saw red and my sister in law punched her in the face and pulled her hair kept punching and kicking her my sister in law is 37 and has form / i will admit i did punch the prostitue i was so mad and angry for what she put me threw, and we left her she wasnt badly beaten tho just a few punches ..
i was 19 at the time now 20,been arrested and charged and waiting to go court .. the thing is i told police my sister in law wasnt there, and the prostite attacked me and i acted in self defence .. now im worried im going to take the blame for everything and go to prison ..
while sister in law gets let off for the damage she done,
she has done this before and bit a police officer before ..
will i go to prison / should i plead guilty .. or tell the truth
someone please help ??
also this is the first time iv been arrested / charged and had to go court .. will this look good in my way ??

Your explanation of what happened above seems confused and a little incoherant. Thats going to make it difficult for your solicitor to understand the situation fully, and for them to help you. Not to mention making things more difficul if it goes to trial.
You need to give your solicitor a clear, easily followable account of what happened, and also a similarly clear account of what you told the police: - spelling out the differences so they really notice them.
Before it does go much further, you'll be given a big bundle of documents detailing the evidence against you. At a minimum I'd expect this to have a statement from the prostitute, (and will likely have statements from the police officers involved, and any other witnesses) that will tell you exactly what she says happened. Read this *very* carefully, along with everything else your given. Get your solicitor to help you understand anything in there that you dont.

I am shocked you hit a woman when she had not attacked you, but you were not asking for our opinions on the crime.
I'm not sure what you should do as you have lied to the police, which was a very silly thing to do. you should speak to your solicitor about this. I do know however, pleading guilty will get you a lighter sentence.
