If a report is made by a member of the public that drug dealing is being carried on, what are the chances, realistically of the police investigating?

They did in our road, a few years back.
it would probably depend on how much info they were given.. the more they have, the more likely they can follow it up.

We live in a tiny village and for some reason the local dealers are making their drops openly in the area. I was talking to a neighbour earlier and he said he has seen it too. I have the car registration etc. Apparently something was happening down the road earlier last week with the police but of course we have no idea what it was. I was hoping it was to do with the drug dealer, but he was dealing agin this evening as we went for our evening walk. I don't know whether to tell the police or not; I find it very frightening.
It is extremely scary horseshoes, but you can report anonymously to the police.
you can tell them anonymously..

Could affect one of your neighbour's kids. How would you feel then?

Thanks all.
You need to report it!................if not, then it will carry on!..................Do it!...............the police need the public to report these things!..........otherwise how can they sort it!..................
The police sort it? Do me a favour....

For as long as ive worked at the co op (4 years now) we've had dealers use one corner of our carpark, we've lost count of the number of times we've reported it. Have the police even bothered coming out? Have they ***!
I reported a regular occurance of drug dealing, it happened every day at the same time at the same bit of road, this guy was selling stuff to secondary school kids (near where I worked) despite reporting it the police did NOTHING about it at all, shocking!
Shame BOO, our local plods are very good!...............yours are obviously not!.........but keep ringing them, they have to document the number of calls!.......then you can complain, with grounds, and they'll have to act!..................
Terrible isnt it Cazzz?

A month or so ago, I got a phone call from Lancashire Constabulary, doing a survey on the service by them- bet they wished they hadn't called me by the time i'd finished, lol.
If it were me, I'd want to know what drugs are being dealt - if it's just weed then AFAIC that's just supply and demand, if it's smack then that's another matter.
lol yeah, we have it all the time, the police are not interested, should be fun if they decide to turn off the street lights like they are proposing.
What's your suggestion? Horseshoes goes up to them and asks them? That'll go down well!
I certainly wouldn't want to know, it's the little packets and cash changing hands which is enough for me. The police cruise round our streets now, the problem is much less than it was but it hasn't gone away altogether.
Different areas .. Bill have different objectives and targets.
Hmm, I have a theory (and it is just a wildcard so don't all shout at me!) that a little weed smoking amongst the youth of the villages could be an alternative to binge-drinking alcohol. Alcohol makes people violent, weed (usually) has the opposite effect.
weed used to make my neighbour go off his head, he used to wreck his flat big style
