Please could any one tell me if when you go for your plea and case management at the crown court if your plea is guilty can you go straight to prison or do you have another hearing after this one.thanks

If your plea is guilty then you do not have another hearing for case management...plea and directions. It depends on if you are on bail, if you were on bail then you will be released on bail and have to return when date is set for sentence.Plus the judge would then use this opportunity to get pre sentence reports. He is on bail untill nov whn he has to be referred frm magistrates to crown crt,so if pleads guilty he will prob have another hearing after his case management then ? is that correct,sorry im not really up on these things !

If he is on bail now until nov and the case is beind transferred to crown court it means the magistrates dont have the powers to send him to prison for longer than one year. The more serious cases are taken to crown court which is what is happening. The fact he has pleaded guilty means he will get one third off his sentence when he gets sentenced by the judge at crown court. The nevt date he get will be to go to crown court for sentence, they may not sentence him immediately because the judge may ask for pre sentence reports etc, so may ask him to come back again for sentenceing. He will usually indicate if a custodial sentence is likely depending on the charges.
