Hi all. I have been told that the fact that I have a good job bodes well for me in the court. However I am really worried that as soon as I mention the ABH charge to my boss, I may well be out of work before I even get to court. Is there a point in time that I have to tell them? I know I should really tell them asap and deal with the consequences of my stupidity. But I have never done anything like this before and I am truly distraught. I am now trying to limit as much damage to my future as is possible. Any help with this question would be much appreciated.

Depends on your contract of employment. Some employers might not be interested at all, others would want to know virtually as soon as you have been charged.
if you need a CRB or have a public job, tell them now ... and how innocent you are!

if not, hold tight!

are you pleading not guilty as charged? bring in loads of mitigation and you will prob get off anyway! also witnesses and evidence from police officers can often get disorganised and the case falls apart! as one who knows someone who was involved as the innocent party in an attempted murder ... person got done for ABH in the end and walked free that day! shambles!
