a work colleague was involved in an unprovoked attack. Has been told by police that attacker will be charged with assault. Is there a way that my colleague can keep her name out of the local paper
It depends on how newsworthy it is, we publish the court lists but that only names the defendant, if they decide to do an article on then no unless the courts rule otherwise, i think but i,m not sure this is mainly used for underagd and rape victims, oh and of course rich footballers.
does your paper usually print reports of such court cases? Does it usually include victims' names? (Have a look at past issues in the llibrary if you don't know.)
