Im wondering if I will qualify for the above. I'm a pensioner with savings in joint names. Does anyone know how much Im allowed to have in savings to get legal aid? TIA.

sorry about your situation, chinadog - i hope that things work out for you. why not try to split assets sensibly between you asap and let him do the divorcing - that way, he'll have to pay for it! of course, that will only work if you are not fussed about your marital status and if you really want rid, you will have to stump up. but...there are cheap ways to divorce these days and some companies do reasonable all-in-one packages. some googling may turn up an acceptable course of action. all the best x
You could do it yourself chinadoll
It's relatively easy to do and you'l get lots of help - this is possible if you have no dependant children and are amicable and agreeable about how things are to be shared
