Story half way down .

Sorry first link didn’t work .

I was just wondering what your opinion
Nonsense he was a fare dodger and the likes of him make train travel so expensive.
Shocking isnt it? That he could be charged with assault.

I love how his family are now trying to make out he's a poor student who just got his tickets mixed up, when in reality he was a gobby little git with a foul mouth who got what he deserved.
The lad was being a silly little t**t but I do think the big guy was a tad too heavy handed. As the lad was just being rude verbally and at no point threatened violence I think the way he was thrown off the train was a bit much. They should all just forget it though.
He may have been a foul-mouthed student, but for another passenger to grab him and lob him off the train is assault imho.
I agree with Evian.
He wasn't assaulted, he was just assisted of the train. Thats what I would say if I was asked to be a witness.

Ticket avoidance is a criminal offence, so he's a lucky man to have got away with it. Wonder how many times he's avoided his fare before?
It was discussed on The Wright Stuff this morning, they seemed to be of the opinion that the transport police should have been called so they could nick him at the next stop. I think I agree.
''This is exactly why the public does not like to get involved... because of the fear of things being turned upside down and possible retribution''
He asked the conductor if he wanted him off the train. The conductor said yes. So that's what he done...
Imagine how furious you'd be with the gobby little git if you were on your way to, or worse from, work and he was holding your train up with his charming language?
it seems the student and the removal man just want to forget about it. only the dad is asking for charges to be bought. probaby out of embarassment or journos putting words into his mouth.

“I landed on my face and I have cuts all over my cheek and my legs. I couldn’t believe it when the footage turned up on YouTube. People have been phoning and asking me if I’m going to go to the police but I am just concentrating on my exams at the moment.”

Mr Pollock’s wife, Avril, said at their home in Falkirk that her husband was a quiet man and did not want any fuss. ''My husband doesn’t want to comment.’’

ScotRail said it did not expect members of the public to “take matters into their own hands”. (except according to the video, the guard did expect that.....)
I'm with the big guy.
Ticket inspectors must come across people like this every day. Perhaps the train companies should employ people who can deal with it themselves.
Had he gone nicely, when asked, he wouldn't have hurt himself.
Conductors can't authorise unknown people to use force on fellow passengers.

The lad behaved badly and was commiting an offence but that is between him and the rail company/the police.

If he'd hit his head on the platform the 'Big Man' could be facing manslaughter charges today.
Thank God the student wasn't black :-o
It should have been left to the transport police. I get why the guy decided to take things into his own hands, I'm sure we're all sick to the back teeth of the level of rudeness to strangers that seem to be the norm these days and I'm not targeting the youth with that either.

The guy effectively chucked the teenager out of the train, his bag, his meds and I assume his phone, were all left inside the train so how was he going to get home or at least contact home to make alternative arrangements.

They're both in the wrong IMO.
