The problem is that she is separated from her useless Finance Specialist of a husband. If i give her a large sum, if they got divorced could he claim any of that money? (it will be significantly more than he will earn in 10 years)

What country is she living in?

Marital assets are dealt with differently in different countries. In some countries the wife owns nothing, no matter what she has inherited or earned - an extreme example but true.
I think you should consult a solicitor with the full details of what you wish to do and your concerns.

You should have said that to begin with - it casts severe doubt on virtually all the answers you've been given so far.
And different states may have different rules.

You say she is unlikely to divorce her husband. A gift should be a gift outright. How would you feel if she gave some of the money (or all of it) to her husband?
