Gbh Charge
My Boyfriend had a fight in a nightclub and threw a glass at a bloke as he was going to punch him, he was provoked as the bloke was taking the p*ss out of him. The bloke is pressing charges, he had a minor cut on his head. What will his sentencing be? He has just been to the police station and got his court date for magistrates but they have told him this will go to crown court, this is his first offence, will he go to prison?

A small cut, not requiring any stitches, would only warrant a charge of common assault. A small cut which required hospital treatment (and might result in permanent scarring) could merit an ABH charge.
