How Do You Find The Name Of A Solicitor Dealing With A Will?
Any information would be helpfull. The said person, who is a blood relative, died this month, but we have no idea who the solicitor is.

Best thing you can do is a Standing Search at the Probate Registry. That way you will be notified as soon as any Grant of Representati on is issued and it should name the solicitor who extracted the Grant. If you need to know before then, the only thing you can do is ask the Attorney. He now, however, has no powers under the PoA, because that ceased on death.

You could ask each solicitor in your town if they are the one,but I do feel they would be very reluctant to discuss a client unless you were included in the dead persons will ? Its very difficult that sort of thing. My Brother died a couple of years ago and his wife who hated me refused to tell me where or when the funeral was. Even the undertaker refused without her,the next of kins permission.
I suppose it depends on why you want to know? Even if you found the solicitor I doubt if he or she would discuss it without the permission of the next of kin ? I would try and find out from the next of kin..

Just to let all you know, that I took a "flyer" and telephoned a lawyer who my Father always delt with. The very well known solicitors told me that they had written a will, but the client (my Father) had changed solicitors in Nov. 2012 to a company in London & Newbury. We will now be contesting the will. Does anyone have a good tips? Or better still - know a Good Solicitor in Bristol?
