All three answers could be correct as it changes a bit
( as a result of the regulators of the lawyers giving a really crap service )
which ever one is wrong ( ie is not the right body ) they should tell you which one is
When you get around to the right one they will tell you to exhaust local remedies by contacting the original solicitor and damn well telling him to convey the property in the correct fashion. When you do contact him be sure to say this is not an extra service but one which you have already paid for
It has happened twice to me - "you cant sell because you dont have title"
Thrice I mean - the first time 1985 I said 'hey hold on you conveyed this property into my name, so what is wrong with title now ?'
he coughed and said "the buyer solicitor is being most difficult ....."
remember what you want it to perfect title as soon as poss so you can sell - rather than fry the genitals of the original solicitor ( memo: fry later tonight )
