I sold two items on eBay in July last year as collection only. (very large set made to measure curtains and made to measure blind)
As buyer lived a few hours drive from myself, she asked whether she could collect in summer holidays when she could combine her trip to the south with her daughters in school holidays. For whatever reason items weren't collected and until just before Christmas I was still waiting for items to be taken.
I then receive a dispute email from PayPal saying buyer has raised a claim as I hadn't supplied goods. I contacted the buyer to say items were ready whenever she was and let me know when she was to come down..unsure why she raised claim. She agreed there was no dispute but because she had left it so long to collect, PayPal would only cover her for her purchase up to 180 days, and realising she was at day 179 she thought by raising the claim this would give her longer if case was still open.
Anyway, I contacted PayPal and they agreed whole thing was nonsense especially as item had only ever been collection only.
Anyway, my question is I have tried several times to contact the buyer to arrange collection - more urgent now as we are about to start building works at our house and need the loft clear, she has not responded though she has paid for items but if she doesn't collect soon, is it unreasonable for me to resell?
I have tried to be flexible but feel annoyed the case was raised unfairly and despite my efforts at contact no reply has been forthcoming. PayPal suggested from their point of view they are not interested now as claim is settled and they even suggested I could resell goods if I wanted but not sure if this would be legal?

It is way outside the time limit to collect these now. You are free to resell them or throw them away , whatever suits you. If it was me I would just send a final message to the buyer giving them 5 days to collect but you do not even need to do that.

Bednobs the time limit for refunds is 90 days so eBay will not recognise it as a refund. You would just be sending unsolicited money.
Legally Chasingcars can resell without even giving notice.

Contact the purchaser as follows:
"TAKE NOTICE that should you fail to collect the items purchased from me through eBay in May 2015 (or make arrangements for their carriage at your own expense) within FOURTEEN DAYS of this notice, I shall offer the items for sale in accordance with the provisions of Section 12 of the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977":

If you then resell the goods you will be obliged to pay the money received (less the costs of sale) to the original purchaser.
