Hi my boyfriend went to a man's house for a drink there was 2 other men who are drug and alcohol users past convictions and charges my boyfriend only had a drink no drugs he has no previous convictions only 1 charge which was battery. So what I heard there was an argument not sure who started it he got hit round the head with a weapon from behind and knocked unconscious causing 2 lacerations above his eye 2 black eyes and his nosed pushed to the sidehe does not know who did it then as he was waking up somebody was on top of him so in self defence my boyfreind lashed out but that man was sent to hospital with facial injuries and had to have facial surgery. But my boyfriend was arrested there and then while he was still dazed and dizzy from the attack. He was sent in remand two days later and charged him with section 18 but the victim and the other man have robbed and attacked people before and they are known to the police my boyfriend got refused bail at magistrates then again on his plea hearing which is so unfair he should not be on remand as he was attacked with a weapon is it possible he could get judge in chambers before his trial date which his trial is the 1st December 2016 also the witness who was there has dropped his statement

No, the other two men shouldn't have hit your boyfriend with a metal bar.
Yes, the other two men should have been arrested.
No, your boyfriend shouldn't have been denied bail.

He should be released end of the reason why he was denied bail was because he Cant remember all of it I'm telling you those men are liars!!
Yes, I see.......

Did you have an actual question to ask; one that people can provide you with an acceptable answer to?
Question Author
Yes my question is why has my bf been put on remand for the last 6 weeks he got injured first those men was not arrested and one of them have dropped their statement is there a chance his case will be accquited? As it's all hearsay
He's been on remand because when he appeared before the court, the Judge decided *not* to grant him bail.

When the Police and CPS have completed their enquiries it may not go to court, in any case.

His trial is the 1st december
There will be meetings before then to decide whether there is sufficient evidence to make it worth everbodys while turning up on December 1st. If the CPS come to the conclusion that there isn't, then the trial will not go ahead and your boyfriend will be released at that point.

His judge in chambers was supposed to be on Friday 2 weeks ago but because there was a murder trial that day his barrister couldn't do it s he was dealing with that murder case my bfs plea hearing was on the monday after not judge I'm chambers and his bail was refused as his solicitor did not fight hard enough to get him bail on tag the judge said it was OK for him to be bailed at the address he chose bu cps was saying he will commit other offences which he wouldn't but he only had 2 bail applications and could not get chance to have judge in chambers as that murder trial was happening the same day is he entitled to apply for judge in chambers again? He has been waiting since last Monday for it to be applied he is so upset.

Nonsense. He does not have to ask his solicitor's permission to sack her. Just sack her if not happy and get someone else.

Question Author
Also his barrister advised him to plead not.guilty as it's self defence
Changing a solicitor is easy . Here is the 'solicitor search' feature of the newspaper 'Inside Time'.
http://www.insidetime.org/directory/categories/solicitors
You just click on the features , specialities and area you need.
These are all solicitors who specialise in working for people who are in prison either convicted or on remand. Contact one who is near the prison where your BF is being held and they will arrange to visit him in the prison.
Inside Time is a newspaper totally devoted to people who are in jail and their family and friends. You are likely to find it very useful.
