A car keeps parking in my tenant’s parking space so my tenant is unable to park there as the space is Most of the time taken by this vehicle. I put notes on the car not to park there, the space has a big sign saying private-they still park there. Now I want to put a bollard but need to pay for it to be dug in, so need to book an installer. What can I do if that car is blocking the space when the installer arrives? I cannot clamp the vehicle but can I put a rope around it and pull it out of my space?

Can't you report it and get it towed ? Just guessing, private spaces may be more difficult than public ones. Perhaps you can report it as apparently abandoned on your property ?
Block it in. Simple, yep it will never move again, but when given the opportunity, it won't return.
"but can I put a rope around it and pull it out of my space?" - No not if the parking break is applied.

Just put the bollard up, it will block the car in then they'll have to grovel to you, to which you can say how frustrating the past few months / years have been, and how today is the only day you have been an inconvenience.

Then say £100 and i'll lower the bollard. If they get aggressive or confrontational shut the door and ring the police. Better yet, as the agent, have a police presence already.
the only thing that I can suggest is that the tenant watches out for the space to be empty and immediately moves their own car or something large and heavy into the space and then leaves it there until the bollard is fitted. Do they know who the person is who parks there and have they been approached?

Would a potato up the exhaust result in it being towed to the garage ? Not that you should do such a thing, of course, but you might watch out to see if a local hooligan does.

This appears to be on private property and in,anycase, is a civil dispute.
The police do not attend in advance and would not turn out for this unless any crime had been committed..
AFAIK the police would assist an estate agent or private land lord in getting access to a property, so why would they not assist in something such as this retro? Just out of curiosity.

Ibb by phoned the council and unless the vehicle is abandoned they will not intervene. I suppose if it’s there again I could assume it’s abandoned as it’s always there when I visit. Today I put a note on the car asking them politely not to park there and taped it to their wipers with a parcel tape. Was tempted to tape the entire car but didn’t... I cannot instal the bollard if they are in my space. Will ask the tenant to keep an eye on the space, but he says most of the time when he gets back the space is taken... I just worry that I will not be able to capture the moment in time for when the installer comes. How come I have no right to remove them from the space I paid? Madness... isn’t it?
Because it is a civil dispute. I have already explained. If police were called to a private parking plot with regards to a car not belonging there the police can only advise the complainant of their civil remedy.
Police will accompany court baillifs who have warrants to enter property and will assist in accessing private property to try prevent injury ,illness or death. The police do not run a locksmith business.
Yes it is madness, but your best option really is to block them in. You'll soon find out if it's abandoned or who the driver is.

Maybe I should check with the police if they would remove it on the day, but I expect they’ll say it’s a civil dispute. Will try to find out though
Put some tape on the doors and take a photo. If the tape remains intact after a few days report the car as abandoned. However, it could take days if not weeks for the council to do anything. We had a car abandoned in a field near me and it was there three months..... If you can safely pull it away from your space then I would do so -then report it abandoned.
Is the space actually on your property or on an allocated parking space?
Contact Traffic Wardens, who will issue a Fixed Penalty ticket to any unauthorised parkers.

So it looks like I cannot report them to the police, the council do not want to know and I am not allowed to touch the car either... Potatoes or more masking tape are my only option- then the police will want to be involved and I’ll be the one crying. Cannot block them with a bollard because they are parked where the bollard needs to go - unless I ou a bollard through the vehicle... hmmm
'Contact Traffic Wardens, who will issue a Fixed Penalty ticket to any unauthorised parkers'

Not on private land.
Block it in, it really is a lot better than damaging the car or scellotaping it. That will only cause further dispute.

You don'#t have to permanently block them in, only until they come and ask you to move, then you tell them you'll move this time, but next time won't move or at least 24 hours.

DO NOT damage their vehicle it will see you in trouble and it's not worth it.
Joanna, re my post above.I know that this works because a friend of mine in the same position had a driver receive a ticket and he has not had any problems since.
ZM, is it on private land on on a thoroughfare?
Contact a 'Tow-away' company and ask them to erect one of their warning notices where your parking space is.
The first time these interlopers park after the sign has been erected get someone to contact the tow-away company......
