I have a tree on my property that is damaging the footpath on the public highway. I am getting the tree removed and stump ground. Am I responsible for the cost of repairing the footpath?

Best to get it all done at the same time rather than wait for a council visit.
I would wait to hear if I had to pay.
Ask one of your local councillors. What's hard?
Wait and see, they may not investigate if the tree isn't visible
I would get in touch with your Highways Department.
I'd deny everything.
Wasn't my fault gov!!
You may be held responsible - contact the council & get it sorted. If anyone trips/falls on the footpath it may complicate matters substantially.
Who owns the footpath?
Who's responsible for the footpath?
Nuff said!
^^^^^ totally wrong - if your tree damages a neighbour's property he owns the property but you are liable for the damage!
it's what you have insurance for.....
I doubt they would agree the claim DTC.
"the damage occured before you took out the policy Sir".
