The ICC has twenty years adjusted its focus such that it could also open the door to prosecutions over Environmental Destruction.
Our country is, to coin a well-known phrase, "leading the world" in overflowing water-treatment plants and ceaselessly dumping industry-pollutants i.a. from the river Tee.
Another such case is the high percentage of CO2 emissions caused by deforestation as a result of illegal land-grabbing in Brazil.
Should the ICC be informed?

But, how does one initiate such a procedure?
Incidentally, locals' claims that crustacean deaths were due to pollutants were rebuffed by DEFRA: it was a "complex" issue, but algae was to blame. However, a study by several universities commissioned by the fishing industry said pyridine, which could have been released by dredging, was more likely.

I would appreciate assistance in finding examples of how reporting to the ICC is made. Its web pages offer nothing in this regard.
34. Can the Prosecutor decide on his own initiative to open an investigation?

Yes, if the Office of the Prosecutor receives reliable information about crimes involving nationals of a State Party or of a State which has accepted the jurisdiction of the ICC, or about crimes committed in the territory of such a State, and concludes that there is a reasonable basis to proceed with an investigation. Such information
can be provided by individuals, intergovernmental or non-governmental organisations, or any other reliable sources. The Prosecution must, however, obtain permission from the Pre-Trial Chamber judges before initiating an investigation under such circumstances.

Your problem seems to be not in contacting the ICC but in providing them with enough specific information to persuade them to open an investigation. So presumably you should do some investigating and create a dossier you can present to them. Good luck!

Precisely, Davebro! Being the Prosecutor is an onerous task! Despite almost daily reports in the media of –only-- our species destroying our environment, one wonders whether anybody has brought forward any such crime to the ICC. Bolsonaro, actively facilitating the disappearance of the Amazon, would be an ideal candidate.

Such a broad spectrum of blatant pollution of our UK environment. Simply fining utility companies (all in private hand?) is pointless; not one person held responsible! Just how toothless are controlling authorities in our country? Central government are ultimately responsible, surely to goodness.

Not if they don't want to be.

That is the nub of the matter. Nobody "wants to be", from keenie greenies to the profit-making industry. No matter how effective the former are in ‘saving’ Planet Earth, the remaining thousand-million are in the majority. Whether we will be responsible for the early end of this Anthropocene Epoch seems, in current light, highly probable. In the meantime, Mr and Mrs Homo sapiens are busy building rockets for their thousand light-year journey to another ‘green’ planet . . .
No first of all you read about the ICC
and then you see that it is not investigatory....

It is on a par with little Olivia in Liverpool was shot - was the Old Bailey informed? and if not why not? No - too early, try the police first
