Insolvent Estate
My mother in law died about 7 years ago. There was literally just enough to cover her funeral expenses, with approx £200 left over in an executors account.
She had LOTS of debts.
My husband agreed to take on sorting the paperwork for winding up her estate, although no will, and no LOA.
it's one of those things that has just been sitting in a box waiting for him to do. His brothers and sisters (x4) know there is nothing in the estate and were quite happy to shirk it all - she was always a "cheque's in the mail" person :)
as it's been so long, can he just give the £200 to a charity and forget about it all?
As im writing this, i seem to recall i may have asked this before!
