ebay item paid for with bounced cheque -help..

the cheque cleared and i sent the item but the cheques now been returned. what can i do? thank-you.

email them and tell them the cheque has not cleared,and if you get no joy, report them to ebay fraud dept,you should have waited a few more days i allways wait 10 days before posting,if they pay by cheque.

Norman - a 'cleared' cheque can bounce up to six months later in some circumstances.

You could also phone the buyer - but don't agree to another cheque! Ask for payment by postal order.

As norman says, report to ebay. If they do refund you, it will be less �15 for admin costs.

yes ethel,i do know that,but it does give enough time for it to be returned,dont be so negative to answers

Apologies, Norman, I didn't intend to be either negative or cause offence.

Many people do not know that an apparently cleared cheque can bounce many months later, and that could have been the case here.
