what is the legal limit for parking between lowered kerbs?

A little elucidation might lead to an explanation.
your not supposed to park between lowered kerbs.Simple as.

i mean the other way... the kerb is low, then rises to full height for one kerb length, then lowers again! what i want to know is does this allow a car to park by it, or does a car have to 'fit' between where the kerb is at full height.. i.e. say three kerb lengths!
