This is not racism but deeply rooted hatred for eachothers countries,, as they were once one united. Almost the same way as you would not call Protestants vrs Catholics in Northern Ireland a racist issue.
However, legally I suppose it does amount to racial (or religious) discrimination. The legislation states that ANYBODY, i.e you can find the behaviour racist and it need not be the actual "victim" intended as such.
There is loads you can do. However, do you really want to? You can not be sacked for expressing concern but it will affect your future. Do you really want to work under the atmosphere of knowing you have reported your boss? Bang goes any cushy numbers and kiss goodbye to a reference. Also remember, the worst case scenarion, the MD can now actually go to prison.
My advice would be let it go.
If I sound like your MD, then I am sorry. But muslims and their evil ways do not deserve respect in the work place. Just how much do they cost the economy re their enormous amount of prayer time?
The Commission for Racial Equality was replaced by the Commission for Equality and Human Rights and their site is here if you want to see what all they can do

the point i am making is this - i am not taking sides at all.
the md has employed the muslim worker for 10 years and from day 1 he has been praying,so he knew what was happening.i feel strongly that he should accept this facet of his faith by now but it is used as a tool to put him down and pour scorn on other aspects of his faith.it is intolerance of someone elses beliefs which is unacceptable, you don't have to go along with others views, however you have to tolerate others
I apologise if you took offence and the reference to your daughter was merely me trying to make a point. I now realise it may have been insensitive.
However, if you put muslim and rape in to google, you will know exactly where I am coming from.
I am all for tolerance, but I find it hard to tolerate a whole section of people who accept rape of western women in the name of allah. The facts are there in the Koran. The Arabs wrote it not me!!!
