Over a year ago I was assaulted resulting in me having a detatched retina in my eye I have gone through two opps to fix the detatchment as it did not work first time and now i am going in for a cataract op, after the two first ops i had to posture for a month with only 10 mins out of every hour to move around. i was a student at the time so suffered no loss of earnings, i have filled in my CICA form with letters from my GP noting that i went through a bad time ect, i now have lost 50% vision in 1 eye and out of that 50% it is very blured. has anyone had a similar case or knows how much compensation i will get? About? Or any case just so i can get some kind of idea. They did not catch the lads thats did this to me either so it wont be settled in court, just the CICA if that makes any difference.

There's a 'tariff calculator', on the CICA website, which provides guidance as to the amount you're likely to receive. Because it's on a secure server (with an 'https' address, rather than an 'http' one) the link, below, won't be 'clickable'. You'll have to copy it and paste it into your browser's address bar:

https://www.cica.gov.uk/portal/page?_pageid=115,90972&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL

You might be able to find out further relevant information about the CICA scheme by following the links from their home page (which, once again, is on a secure server):
