i know this isnt the right place for this question, but its for ethel and i know she frequents here !!! lol sorry
i use ancestry.co.uk on a daily basis and can get all births marriage and death records free and viewable(apart from census etc) without having to sign up. today i cant get anything without signing up for the 14 day trial or using credits. do you know if this is the way it will be now? thanks

Yes - it appears that Ancestry have now started charging for access to the BMD indexes. I'm not suprised really, everywhere else charges as well so Ancestry were bound to follow suit at some point. I suppose we should br grateful that it's been free up until now.
