Noisy builders!
Is there a law on what time builders can start work? There is a huge major building site at the bottom of my garden and I mean so close that when the machinery is there you could almost reach over the fence and touch it! At first they were digging holes in the ground that rattled our house, then came the demolition of buildings very close to our house and now it is just general digging etc that is extremely noisy and this starts at 7.05am. I didn't think they were allowed to start this early or I hope they aren't because I am going to have words! Do any of you know any different?

Hi Tigwig, the law regarding disturbing the peace is generally 7am, so therefore if they turn up at 6.30 then you will have a leg to stand on when complaining,if not i dont think you will. The other end of the scale is midnight,if someone next door happens to be having a party!! As someone has previously stated there are legal issues regarding noise restriction and the council are the ppl to speak to regarding this. Sorry i couldnt be of more help.
