Hope this in right section ive got my driving test booked for Friday and my instructers car has gearbox problms and wont be ready for test so can i change the car over to my own at the test centre? ive only got 3rd party fire and theft insurance on my car but with me as a named driver do i need fully com? and what documents do i need to produce at the centre other than the usual ones i in panic over this as i really want to take this test as there is a 6wk wait were i live and i need this.

dont worry you can take the test. I took my test in my own car - you have to take someone with you - as when you go you dont have a license and you may need some one to drive you home (hopefully not). I had to produce both parts of driving licence as norm, no other documents were needed back then (3 and a half years ago...)

Might be best to ring and ask though.

Your examiner will ask you to sign a declaration stating that your insurance is in order.

The vehicle needs an interior mirror for the examiner's use. Other minimum requirements are listed here...
