My husband and I have been married for 5 years. I told him that I wanted a divorce due to financial stress, he helped me get into $20,000 debt. He moved out in June, and now he is wanting the divorce on grounds of adultry. We live in SC, is there still laws on adultry and even if he proves adultry, Will he still have to pay part of the debt accrued during the marriage. All I'm asking for in the divorce is for my maiden name and that he pay 1/2 the debt. Can someone help me or give me some hints.

In this country the debt would depend on whose name it was in and the woman could revert to her maiden name easily.
