How soon before the holiday did you cancel. What details were on the booking form about lost deposits in the event of cancellation
Question Author
it was a month before i was due to go, like i said did,nt have to send 200, just did, the deposit was 30 per person, and as there were 2 of us, 60,,,,but sent 200, the propieter said she would return my deposit in full initially, ive sent e,mails and they responded saying a letter was in post, but that was 2weeks ago! i dont mind if i lose the 60, but not 200!
I think if the prop said they will re imburse you it is fab and a great reflection on them for understanding your predicament,
However as you pointed out you would expect to lose the deposit of 60 , If she failed to re let the holiday she may be entitled to more depending on the booking conditions, please check them.
Failing that do you not want to holiday down there next year if they will carry it over ??, that will probably get the best result, she gets to keep the money and you get to look forward to cornwall next year .
Other than that , tell her you will start a small claims against them , tell them you don't want to do that but may feel it neccesary if she does not do as she has said , give her two weeks to sort it . best of luck !
