I'd like to complain regarding errors and attitude of a travel agent. (absolutely dismal - don't even get me started!)

I have written a strongly worded letter and need to know:

How long I can legally give them to respond (in writing)

Should I send a copy to a governing body of travel agents? If so who would this be? ATOL?

thanks guys

(Ps - next time i will be booking entire hol ONLINE MYSELF - might as cos i can't **** it up more than the agents did!)

2 weeks is reasonable
i would highly doubt that there is any laws regarding complaints to travel agents

Go to your local reference library and ask if they can find the name and home address of the company's MD for you. IBy law, if it's a PLC that information should be on public record. Send a copy of your letter to him/her.

Hi

You can also complain to ATOL or ABTA.

Thanks to all for your info - much appreciated.... barring tejams response ...tetjam we have paid (as of course hollidays are paid for in advance don't you know?) We paid the agent in advance for (amongst other things) car hire / vip lounge / airport parking but thanks to a host of their "booking errors" we had to PAY AGAIN for this! WOuld you be willing to pay twice for something....? Doubt it!

so you see tetjam it's not just apetty grumble their msitake have cost us cash!

if you had to pay twice for something it means the people who took your money for it originally didn't provide the service; you could demand every penny back plus some more for aggravation.
