is accelerating fast classed as reckless driving

There is now an offense of inconsiderate driving.

This offence is committed when the defendant's driving falls below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver.

Now whatever you might aregue about competence a careful driver does not engage in needless heavy acceleration - so that would definately get you.

the definition of Dangerous driving is

A person drives dangerously when the way he/she drives falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful driver AND it would be obvious to a competent and careful driver that driving in that way would be dangerous.

So that would depend on the circumstances as to whether it would be dangerous - possibly not on an empty motorway.

If I floor the accelerator in my car in first gear it is doing 40mph+ before you can blink an eye. It does 70 in first if you let it.

mine does 80 in 1st i tested it outside a school just to make sure it was accurate
