how long until a speeding ticket is 'expired'

i recieved a speeding ticket doing 83kph in a 50kph zone sometime in September of 2007, but my court date is cmming up now sometime in October and i heard that any traffic ticket that has 365 passed over without beeing convicted is directly thrown out.

please help.
