I don't know for sure, but I would think, yes, you do. or at the very least, you should
What job do you do?
Question Author
school teacher
Well yes then. Don't you have to have yearly CRB checks? Better you tell them now cos they will find out...!!!
Yes definitely tell them and give them a full explanation showing lots of remorse.
This could actually be very serious and you could lose your job. I know that in my job (I'm a nursery nurse) if you have any violent convictions you are not allowed to work with children full stop. I don't know if this is the same with teachers.
Then yes, I would think you do

I work with under 5's and my CRB check is over 3 years old now - work say that's perfectly ok and they do not need ot be done yearly

And convictions for violent acts will surely mean you lose your job, sorry. If you own up rather than wait and see if you are found out it will have a better bearing on your status of employment, although should you get the sack (which you probably will do), you will not get another job in teaching.

i presume it will be in the local paper anyway? Someone is bound to find out and that is worse than telling now- I would speak to your union head office (not your inschool rep) first and then approach the head with your union rep in tow once you have fully briefed them- before the sentence and not after.

i am a teacher btw.

thanks guys i know i will loose my job...just one moer thing i have lost house, kids, wife etc

it was my ex wife i hit because she would not let me see the kids that day....
telling the head today
I'm sure you are not the first teacher to have hit his wife. I hear it also happens in the upper classes.
Well andy, I think that is the best way to go
Come back to tell us how you get on
A very sorry situation- I would seek the advice of the union though too-
Question Author
well im going to get the sack..... well at least i will not have to pay her any money for the kids
You'd rather I supported your kids than you? Why should I?

Get another job somewhere and support your own family.
Sorry its taken a while to get back andy ............
Well, I didn't think it would go any other way TBH
You hit your ex wife in a fit of anger and there is no way you or anyone else can be sure a child in your care is safe - they are the biggest wind up merchants going

However, your attitude towards your children stinks! And if your attitude towards your own children stinks then your regard for other people's must be much lower. How dare you expect people like myself and other tax payers to fund your family. Having a convinction does not mean you cannot work - find your self repsect Andy and get work where ever you can to pay for your own children
A school teacher? bol0x a school teacher, you are friggen dumbo.
