Contract Law
Can anyone offer any advise on this senario?
On 11th July Stamford wrote to Grimsby offering him 300 bags of cement at 10 per bag. On 13th July Grimsby posted a reply in which he agreed to Stamford's price but added that if he did not hear to the contrary he would assume that it included delivery to his yard.
The following morning, before Grimsby's letter arrived at Stamford's office, stamford heard a rumour that the price of cement was about to fall and he immediately sent a fax to grimsby stating 'Our price of 10 includes delivery'
Grimsby received the fax at 10am on 14th July and immediately posted a letter to Stamford confirming his acceptance of Stamford's terms. At lunch, however, Grimsby also heard the rumour that cement prices were about to fall, and at 2pm sent a fax to stamford stating "Decline your offer of cement".
The price of cement fell to 8 per bag and Grimsby refuses to accept any cement from Stamford

Stamford original letter - Offer
Grimsbys reply - counter offer
Stamfords fax - Acceptance of counter offer
Grimsbys letter - confirmation of his acceptance
Grimsbys final fax - breeching verbal contract using the postal rule?
Is this along the right lines?
