What is the correct procedure for calling and holding an AGM for a charity. I was informed of the AGM the morning of the Agm, and also asked to prepare a short presentation for the meeting, which was far too short notice.
There should be AGM procedures written in the constitution or other document which governs the running of the charity. It should stipulate how members are contacted for AGM, how much notice is needed to hold the AGM, how many members are needed to be quorate etc.
I have just organised the AGM of our NHS trust.
Our only legal requirement is to publically display the accounts
however, our other (non-legal) requirements include advertising the AGM locally, giving 28 days notice and a presentation from the chair or cheif exec. These requirements are in our local constitution though, not legal
