If you get a CCJ awarded against you and you can't pay it, what happens? If it's awarded against one half of a married couple with shared assets, how is the debt treated? Any advice would be gratefully received.

If the debt is in your name, then you are responsible for it. It would only affect the 'other half' if it was in joint names.
the bailiff can still seize goods from the marital home.......
