Blocked driveway due to customers of neighbours who run business from home

My neighbours opposite my house have set up a business run from their house and their customers regularly park across my driveway. The neighbours are extremely unfriendly to all the householders on my side of the road (reason unknown to any of us) so are not easy to approach and have said before 'you don't own the road'.
I would be interested to know what options are open to me to stop this happening. If I called the police the people parking would have gone by the time the police turned up and it seems a bit 'over the top' at the moment. Should they have a proper licence to run a business from home? In which case would it be advisable to speak to the local council?

If you run a business from home which is likely to have an impact on your neighbours with an increased number of visitors/vehicles you *must* apply for Planning consent.
Contact your local Planning Department.

and put one of those Polite notices up saying driveway in use at all times, do not block!

If they are annoying you so much I'd also ask the council to check that they are paying business rates..........

You could also park your car across your drive for a few days

or get a mate to park an old banger across their drive for a few days.....

I will certainly find out if they have planning consent etc.
Unfortunately nothing will be gained by me parking across my own driveway and I wouldnt like to ask anyone to park across their drive ..... who knows what the consequences of that would be!

Oh no! There seems to be a few tin tacs fallen on the road just by my driveway. I'll have to remember to pick them up when I get back!!!

Just put rope on it and drag it out of the way, oh and some of the tyres could well puncture doing that, oh dear, even dumb animals learn evetually.

Do you have a dropped kerb outside your driveway? If so it is an offence for anyone to park across it, they could find themselves ticketed for it if someone were to let on to the local traffic wardens about what happens and the usual sort of times it occurs ;-)

Parking across a drop kerb can only be ticketed if the local authority decide to set up a regulation and enforce it. Some do, some don't.

Yes I do have a dropped kerb and it doesn't deter them at all. One car was completely over the end of my drive and when I asked the young lad if he could move it he said "why? is it blocking your drive then"!!
Local police don't seem at all interested.
I have written to the council this morning so will see what they say.
