If an offer below the full asking price has been received on a property is it usual for an estate agent to tell others what the value of that offer is?

When I`ve been buying somewhere and an offer has been made, the estate agent has said they can`t tell me what the offer is. They might hint though and get around it that way.
I think the only exception is repossession properties, as they are obliged to get the best offer, so they usually put an ad in the paper with the value of the offer and give 7 days for anyone to beat it
