Why use court instead of CSA
6 Answers
Currently I pay my ex wife maintenance ( though not through the CSA) for our 2 children. Since my children moved in with her last December, I have continued to receive child benefit for them and I forward this to my ex.
I recently thought to myself that this act may be illegal and have asked my Ex to claim it herself - and for some reason she does not want to.
She is a very angry person and has threatened to take me to court for more money (its her way of attempting to punish me) but if I am paying what the CSA guidelines suggest- what would that achieve? I'm already providing- something she didn't do for the three years I the children lived with me.
Would a court bother with this? Have I anything to worry about?
Thanks in advance
