witness summons--

Please advise, i have been diagnosed with clinical depression and this is a result of worry and anxiety regarding proceedings which are taking place.

I feel very sad and depressed and have been having suicidal thoughts,
My psychologist has advised me not to attend court as this could make things worse for me mentally.

How do i get excused from attending?
Pls help

get your psychiatrist or doctor to write a letter to the court to excuse you from proceedings due to ill mental health.
a court can sumons anyone to court but they can't go against a medical professional.

victim support has been a waste of time, tried speaking to them no joy

basically as long as your psychiatrist or doctor say your unfit to attend court then the letter is good enough to excuse you. My aunty got her doctor to write a letter saying a case had made her bed and she che was unfit to be questionned in court 9giving evidence) and the court excused her, but if you have no letter and just fail to attend the police will knock for you.

Mrsab, if you have just being diagnosed then your GP will know, and you can ask them to write a letter if it's easier that asking your psychologist. Don't delay asking though - the sooner the court has the letter, the better.

she was the only witness giving evidence.
other's were victims.
case went ahead and the person got 8 years....

there were a few victims, she was only 1 giving evidence as a neutral.

NO!! It's domestic violence, and the CPS will follow the guidance given in their protocols. To many victims of domestic violence are "induced" to retract their statements, therefore the CPS now have protocols in place to carry on with the prosecution after a victim statement retraction.
You have been given good advice on your previous posts on the best way forward with this subject. Please follow the advice given!

well the cps suck, they dont care about victims and justice,
The more cases they have the more income they generate
i don't even want to be separated from my husband
no ones even asked me or considered what my views are
Mr Mayor I appreciate what you have said, but if that is the case about proceeding without me etc, why is there then a need to make things even worse for me by threatening to send a summons, im not even at home, statying here and there, they wont ever get to give me the summons in my hand, but its an unwanted headache,,,,

Madam, for someone who can't recall anything, your powers of memory are amazing. You have been posting incoherent comments on this thread for days now. The advice given to you has been generally along the lines of, "Seek professional advice, be it legal or medical". If you persist in your obstinancy you will only be the author of your own misfortune. I wish you well and hope you have a happy outcome, but don't come on here moaning if it all goes pear-shaped. There is only so much that we amateurs can do.

Mrsab. For your info there is no time limit on a "Witness Summons". You could be avoiding the police/courts and CPS for a very long time! No it's not torture. Domestic violence offences often escalate over time. A slap today, a punch next week, then perhaps you will get thrown down the stairs! But so what you are quite happy to be a VICTIM!!

The mayor i guess thats the view some people have which to them justifies breaking families up,,,,,, but anyway i appreacite your views,, i have decided i will attend and answer the summons, however i will not give any evidence
