The police entered and searched my property while I was on holiday and my son was at work they took computers from my home but they found no evidence of what they were looking for. Later on the police found the man they thought was my son. My son went to police station got back his computers and did not get arrested or charged for this. Can I claim compensation for the cost of my front door?

could you claim off of your house insurance?
Question Author
Suppose I could but then my insurance may go up. I think the police should pay compensation for my door.
Have you tried asking them?
That was I was just about to say.
I'm sure if you ask them in a civil manner, they will admit to entering the wrong house, as i take it your son was a case a mistaken identity, otherwise how did the police enter your property loking for this man?
