i know i will struggle but i always give the money i earn to my mum yet my 18year old brother spunges of my mum and my money so what can i do but leave and give them a taste of reality to how much i do in the home and how much life costs without my bank account.
Try it. You will be back home in 3 months tops once you have run out of money.

i am sure i could last on my own, with the amount of money i have saved i think i could last for ages
you say you will always give the money you earn to your mum. I dont see, if you already do this, how you will have sufficient savings. Also i think your dads family will want some contribution to housekeeping etc.

i have spoke to her, she said she dont want me to leave because what will she do for money and i said that is what benafits are for?
out of interest, just how much can a 16 year old have saved from a part time job in 3 years
I'm sure we all felt like this at one time or another when we were teenagers. Just oart of growing up I'm afraid Meg.

at the end of the day my dad said he will help me and all i would need to do for now is get an education
Get an education?

I thought you were 16?
Why don't you listen a bit you lot .. eh?!
You're trying to hang her when she needs re-assurance.
You think talking is going to do much after Police, Social Services and obviously these serious problems at the family home? The lady has obviously followed this route for quite some time already.

Lots of people leave home younger than you .. but you DO need a proper PLAN for housing .. and income. Good luck
Social services and the police wouldn't have a leg to stand on unless there was a big concern about where she was going/who she was going to/what the other issues surrounding her are. If they are brining her back then there's probably a reason for it and we're not getting the whole picture. Hence why I think the OP knows why they keep being brought home.
Megyog I think you are finding yourself in a very difficult situation and I feel for you.

I understand your need to get away from your mum - and you feel certain you can cope on your own... but please please please do not underestimate how expensive life can be trying to buy food and pay bills rent etc.

People who earn far more than you are struggling to make ends meet.

Leaving home at your age - is a very serious decision to make - and shouldnt be taken lightly. Plus - life wont necessarily get easier for you the older you get... without the support of your parents - its going to be tough for you.

Good Luck with whatever you decide!!!
She has the support of her Dad and his family.
Magyog, I'm sorry for your situation, but if you are your mum's principal carer, what will she do if you leave?
