Several issues in rented property...what are my rights?
We have been living in a rented property that is only approx 18months old for 10 weeks. In that time we have had a boiler engineer out twice, have underfloor heating that doesn't work (or at least I can't figure out how to work it and no instructions have been given), had a shower that leaked on to the kitchen ceiling below and then thru spotlights and this week have had the immersion tank overflow causing a large amount of water to saturate a bedroom carpet not to mention also running down walls and through the ceiling spot-lights into the toilet and cupboard below (the cupboard also contains the fuse box).
There has been no actual damage to our possessions but things could have obviously been worse especially with regards to electrical contact.
I have had to take several half days to deal with these situations so have been significantly inconvenienced not to mention time spent cleaning up after the latest immersion tank incident.
Do I have any rights to compensation and if so what can I claim?
Thanks.
