Bob Carolgees?

Who is Bob Carolgees.........he is mentioned a lot in Peter kays shows...........what has he been in or done?

Bob Carolgees was a TV star, and stage comedian in the 1980's. He appeared for a long time on the BBC comedy show OTT, I think with Chris Tarrant. He is most famous for his puppet 'Spit The Dog', which was a strictly one-trick idea- he spoke to it, it 'spat' everyone convulsed with laughter ..... yeah, it was a long time ago.

Times change, and Bob has now retired from comedy, and he and his wife run a specialist candle shop, but I'm not exactly sure where.

Addition to previous answer - Bob is still working in commercials, cabaret, and voice-overs, so if he did retire, it didn't last! Maybe he just retired 'Spit' instead - smart move!

I'm sure I read somewhere that he put Spit The Dog up for auction.

He was a regular member of the team on ITV's Saturday morning kids' show, Tiswas, alongside Chris Tarrant, Sally James and Lenny Henry. Tiswas ran from the late 70s (mid-70s in the Midlands) to the mid-80s.

..he also had a shop in my local town of Pwllheli, he had a note stuck on to the counter which said " yes it is him off the telly, no Spit the dog is not here with me, no I'm not on the telly anymore, no I dont speak to Chris Tarrant anymore"... Spit and Bob were regulars on TISWAS...
