old film

Back in the early 70's there was a film on tv that featured a brother and sister, they had to go to many different places, looking for something, in one scene they even went to a place where unborn children were getting ready to come to earth, they met there baby brother there, whose gift was some sort of illness, does anyone know that that film was called, it had such an impact on me and I would like to see if I could get it. I think some of it was in colour and some was in black and white

Sounds a lot like "The Blue Bird". It's from 1940 but was remade in 1976, though I don't know if the later version was in colour and b&w.
