I've never been a real lover of American sitcoms, but have recently been introduced to Modern Family.
A well-written, well-acted show in my opinion.
Anyone agree?

Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Soap, Benson (Robert Guillaume was brilliant), Married With Children, Roseanne (the early ones)

Curb Your Enthusiasm, Frasier, Cheers, Soap, MASH, and Bilko
MASH, yes, I agree with that.
and Scrubs
Soap. We still click our fingers and go invisible when we do something wrong.
lol, bakers, I'd forgotten about that
their have been some good ones in the past, Mash, Taxi, Cheers etc but the more modern ones leave me cold I'm afraid.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sh1t My Dad Says, Family Guy.
I love Modern Family - also Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry Sanders, Dream On, 30 Rock, US Office, Frasier and Two and A Half Men.
Kaz, I couldn't get into the US Office. I think Steve Carrel is funny but didn't quite click with me. If I'd seen it before our The Office, it might have been different
I haven't seen a lot of these newer ones. There are some really interesting choices. I never would have considered Frasier to be a good one overseas but I guess its east coast cosmopolitan humor isn't that far off. Soap is one of my all time favorites. I own all the MASH and Family Guy episodes on DVD. A lot of my Aussie friends enjoyed "That 70s Show". It sounds like you get a lot more of our programming than we get of yours.
See Arti, I could never get into the UK version. I've worked in too many places like that :)
Oh, and I liked That 70's show too :)
best US sitcom ?

COUGAR TOWN ... by ... a ... mile !!!!
Two and a Half Men
Definitely Bilko for me, and even older than that, I Married Joan.
mike i didnt know you were married mike !
Nobody has mentioned "Friends" I like friends, I rarely watch TV to be honest.
" It sounds like you get a lot more of our programming than we get of yours. "

I think we do. My brother in NY is always raving about programs (like "Born to the Manor" , or " As Time Goes By") that haven't been new here in yonks.
I adored 'Married With Children' - any writer who starts with naming his family after a serial killer gets my vote - and Chrisitna Applegate's legs ... hubba!
