awww Star, thats awful
He's from the wirral Bobbi, his accent is not as strong as a scouser, but their humour and wit are very simiiar!........I like him, as I grew up near there, and had relatives livng on the wirral, and went to stay there often!.............
Too true, Bobbi, it is awful, but unfortunately factual.
lol, Alb. I was just getting a point acroos to Bobbisox. I understand why people think he's from Liverpool, because the accents of Birkenhead and Liverpool are very similar, but calling him a Scouser (or Liverpudlian) is akin to saying someone from Sunderland is from Newcastle.
Question Author
Arti,,LOL
our accents are totally different too, Sunderland people say Mak'em for make them hence them being called the Mackems
You mean Sunderland and Newcassell are different?

That's it. Arti is not going to throw me any more rolies :( :p
Question Author
totally Alba x
quite so Arti!.............if you listen to a scouser, and someone from Birkenhead, they sound alike, but not the same by far!.........The scouse accent is far more pronounced!..........
You'll come begging, Alb, when you're gasping one morning ;)
Question Author
are the people from B/Head more gutteral?
Not really Bobbi, think maybe the scousers are!.................
Yeah, Welshy, I can hear the difference in the two accents because I'm from Liverpool, but it must be difficult for someone who hails from a fair bit away to hear the difference.
Question Author
it does Arti, same as here I suppose
One of the strong differences is the way Birkenhead people pronounce their 'o'. It's a tad effeminate. Us Scousers, though, are men through-and-through.......except the women ;)
Question Author
if you say so..ha-ha
Aye, pet :)
Very true Atri, As I said, I had family on the Wirral, in Irby Village, we often went on the ferry to Liverpool, and on the bus to Birkenhead too!.......I stayed there most weekends as I grew up, and noticed the difference!.............but if you're from a long way away, then you wouldn't notice it!................
Oooo arti, its a good thing you stepped in there, a Liverpudlian indeed! :p

He's from my side of the water (River Mersey) I don't have a Liverpudlian accent.

I like him, bobbi. Some of the things he says about here are so funny - and true!
I aw him over in Liverpool at the Empire, as lily savage in Prisoner Cell Block H. Very funny :)
Question Author
still love all them L/Pudlians
they laugh at themselves like us Geordies :-)
Btw, a little titbit about Liverpool. On the Liver Buildings there are two Liver Birds. One is looking out to the Mersey and the other looks toward the city. Many years ago, when many Liverpool men were in the Merchant Navy, it was said that the Liver Bird that was looking out 'to sea' was the female one, watching out for the return of the menfolk. The other one was the male, watching for when the pubs opened.
