Yes, grand actor, if anyone wants a funny, and off the wall film try
The Princess Bride, he plays the grandpa who reads the story to his grandson, fred savage, its a joyous joke from the first, parodies every swashbuckling type film, and is in my top 50 all time films.

He had had dementia for some time. A great actor, I really loved the series and watched them on Sundays on ITV. The mac was his own, he got it out of his wardrobe when the series started.

He was such a legend, I am 30 now but have watched Columbo since I was a child and it never gets old. RIP Columbo
