last night, i did and thought it was very good, but why didn't they make
it longer, say 6 episodes, as it was obvious from reading the blurb of the
book, they missed out an awful lot.
Lots happened, but it should have been spread out at least 4 maybe 6 episodes, as it seems quite a complex and long story. The performances
were excellent, it too a little bit to get going, but i found it quite moving.
eastender she was a new head teacher in a north country school drama wasn't she - David Morrisy (sp) was in it - he died in a riding accident and his young daughter was disturbed by her mother's death? Re: Night watch I'm not sure what I thought - obviously very heavy lesbian/homosexual content with no hetrosexual balance and as a story, quite interesting but as to the content, not sure - or have I missed something?
I watvhed it, and enjoyed it. I did think though that the writers made it seem that homosexuals and lesbians were the majority during that period of time. If they were, I don't feel they were openly so.
i think that the book its based on is much more complex, and don't think it did it justice by being a one off drama. Anna Maxwell Martin was also in
Bleak House, a while ago, which i thought excellent.
I recorded it to watch sometime soon.
However, they seem to have excised so much of the book that I can't help but feel that I'll be disappointed by it (they also changed one fundamental character, too, I believe :o().
JHT, that is what i said before, though i haven't read the book, i would like to, as i did read some of the reviews, and i am sure its far more complicated, complex, with well drawn characters. To do a one off drama seemed a bit of a waste
