Yup, my youngest daughter thinks he's hilarious, I think he looks like the dodgy offspring of Norman Wisdom with personality problems.
And a sweat problem...
i find the appeal of john bishop is about the same level as 'entertainment' night at butlins. it seems to attract the same crowd as well.

he has been funny on stand up, but this show really is crap. i have noting against accents if the comedy content suits me.
To be honest I'm heartily sick of the term 'stand-up'. When I was young you were either a comedian or a comic actor.
quizzywig - the term comes from conversations that commedians had when they appeared on the Johnny Carson Show on American TV.

There were two levels of appearence, either you did your slot to the audiencec, and sat dowqn with Johnny, or you just did your slot to the audience, which was regarded as less impressive.

This got abbreviated to - "I hear you did Johnny Carson, what did you get - sit-down or stand-up/"

and the exprerssion has come over here to refer to any commedian who delivers a routine to an audience with a microphone.

Me and my family think he's funny and we enjoyed his show.
