THE KILLING-REMAKE

Is it just me or has this remake just taken a left turn, dont remember the security forces in the original (or whatever the swedish FBI are called)
So far its seemed to be word for word same as the original and not so good as-even with subtitles.Do you think remakes are ever better than the originals.
King kong,39 steps, beverly hillbillies, dukes of hazard, the day the earth stood still and scarface to name only a few.
I dont mind when its done tongue in cheek like the mummy and others of that ilk but why mess with perfection.

I rarely watch remakes as they don't really stack up to the originals. Oceans Eleven would be an exception.
I watched the first version which was good but full of red herrings and just about every character when being introduced was shown in a suspicious light so as to fool the viewer into thinking "this must be the one".
This American version stuck to the story for awhile, even to the point of the chunky sweater, sweet chewing, permanently worried look on the face of the female detective.
They have certainly deviated now so it looks as though we may not even have seen the murderer as yet. The character I most dislike and think has been miscast is that of Jamie, the so called Intern. He looks as though he was plucked out of a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings film.
