Did anyone else watch this last night?

Some of the reviewers were complete morons! One guy who took it upon himself to review how well the hotels catered for children and families, despite the fact he didn't actually have any children and the guy who insisted he couldn't sleep in the same sheets for one than one night (and marked the bedding with a pen to see if they changed it). I wonder if he changes his sheets at home every day.

They were definitely on their own mini power trips. Although some of the hoteliers were prats too.

I have said the attitude of some of the hoteliers didn't help, you do have to accept some criticism but for me the reviewers came off far worse.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who do use Trip Advisor for its intended purpose but there's no reason to go as far as to try and assume what other peoples requirement might be or what they might find acceptable.

I think Mr Sheet marker has a serious case of potatoes on his shoulder and is taking it out on the defenseless. We all know even on here it's easy to be a complete mong when you are protected by a screen where nobody can see you.

I did watch some, and the really awful thing was one bad review can completely wreck the business.

we have been places so praised on TA we were disappointed, and then got a bragain break at a cheaper & less rated place, and had a great time!

i always complain quietly to the right person, so that things can be 'made right' if needed!

I agree that a really bad review can have a terrible effect on a business. If I were to read a review by one of those idiots and saw them complaining about wrong drinks etc I don't think I would take it seriously and look at some others. Maybe even look at other reviews they have written. Sometimes from them you can tell if they like complaining about everything. Some do seem to get a kick out of it. They need to get a life.

I found the show extremely annoying. The hosts were far from perfect - the Old Forge owner was slightly removed from reality, with his "German" impressions and his grand visits to the dining room during meals, but I admit I laughed when he was asked if he was nervous about the Australian reviewer coming and replied "No, I couldn't give a f*** about her" (and what WAS her deal? Why did she and her partner keep getting up to leave?). However, the reviewers depicted seemed to be determined to find fault. Mr Logic, he of the skin complaint, was filmed in an act of criminal damage without any consequences, yet the owners' livelihoods were being damaged by his insanity. Like the contributor above, I was irritated by the retired Liverpudlian police officer pretending not to understand the girl saying "cereal" and pointing at the cereals. he even grinned at the camera as if we were in on the racist gag. However, I froze the frame and noticed that he had given a four star review, very favourable in the main, and mentioned his friend's sickness from having "eaten too much the night before" - a backhanded compliment, but the owner (and film makers?) made a huge deal of that one comment. I think it was a slightly disingenuous programme, lining up "eccentric" characters (to put it politely) on both sides to provide "good TV" - I prever my TV honest too, that's all.
