Did anyone else watch this last night?

Some of the reviewers were complete morons! One guy who took it upon himself to review how well the hotels catered for children and families, despite the fact he didn't actually have any children and the guy who insisted he couldn't sleep in the same sheets for one than one night (and marked the bedding with a pen to see if they changed it). I wonder if he changes his sheets at home every day.

They were definitely on their own mini power trips. Although some of the hoteliers were prats too.

Yes I did
Mr Sheet Marker needs a life
Wont tell the hotel he has a 'skin condition' but will tell a couple of million TV viewers? What an idiot

The other 2 chaps didn't actually give a bad review of the places they stayed in if you go and read them

Couldn't din the Australian woman's review so can't comment on it
I was hoping someone had posted on this. It was brilliant, wasn't it.
That Aussie woman at the end, the one who visited The Old Forge, was a complete and utter bitch. I could have slapped her!
She was so horrible to those poor people, I felt really sorry for them. Who did she think she was?!

Its shocking really, how customers can literally ruin a business.

I've left a bad review on TA, but it was well justified and, to be honest, I wasn't the only one.
Why these people purposely visit places with an intention of leaving such negative feedback, is beyond me.
How can someone be that spiteful towards another human being.

The bloke who marked the bed sheets was a total muppet. He was obviously trying to get some form of power in his sad little life, and make up for his bullied childhood. Making an issue out of being served the wrong drink? Idiot.

Oh, and the man who made such a big deal out of "not being able to understand" the Spanish waitress, asking if he wanted cereal.. Bull!
You were at breakfast. She was stood right in front of you.... pointing to the cereal. Another idiot.

I must admit I didn't catch most of the last part so didn't see what happened with the Aussie woman.

It's one thing giving an honest review of somewhere but to review things that had no bearing on your stay is stupid. How would you know what is suitable for a family stay if you don't have a family with you?

And the sheet marker guy, just a prat. When the accidentaly brought him tonic water instead of lemonade he instantly declared that would be going in his review even though the bar lady was quick to recitify an very simple error. Even his nan had a go at him for it!

The guys that stayed in Cornwall did have a point about the window with no blind on it though, that would make me have a bad nights sleep and is easy to sort out.

I didn't notice if that was a one off programme or is it a weekly thing?
Oh yeah, the window. I agree, that would have annoyed me too.

Someone at work was just saying, that lots of those trip advisors have posted on TA, saying they were shown in a bad light, and that their stay was actually very nice.

It was a one off, as far as I know.

Just read your link OJ. It's interesting that he seems to think very little of the way the programme was edited. It doesn't change the things he actually did say though and I wonder how many people who watched the show will actually see that. I wouldn't have if you hadn't provided it to me.
I watched and it was obvious a number of those reviewrs were on an ego trip and you have to ask why the makers included the pen guy and the tonic water/lemonade guy as they are obviously idiots.

However the couple at the Old forge were obviously as bad as they were critiqued. They were simply appaling people and I think they would do their guests a favour by giving it up. The bloke with the Lady Chatterly art, was such an arrogant/snob of a man I am willing to bet he never gets any repeat business.
His review is a good one for the hotel he used though Evian - I think the point he is making is that his comments were edited against what the owner was saying in such a way the conversation on TV was completely different to the actual conversation

I'm with you both on the curtains thing - I couldn't have slept with that light flashing all night. And expecintg the light owner to change their bulb .... L O L
Question Author
Thats probably the reason they chose the people they did Dave, to get the reactions like ours.

I thought the bloke running the Old Forge was a bit of a so and so. Sometimes you do have accept things can be done better, like cooking sausage and bacon fresh in the morning. Not microwaved from the night before.
Dave, L o L that made me laugh. I agree, he was a complete numpty!

I disagree about the Old Forge people, though. The bloke was a bit annoying and did think he was above everyone else, but I did feel really sorry for the woman, and I think she was quite patient with that damn Aussie woman.... who was a complete cow!

The Chatterly art was nice though, wasn't it.. and not exactly "pornographic", as that Trip Advisor said. I thought his B&B was lovely. All that taxidermy!
Flip - I think I would find the taxidermy creepy but I thought his my way or the high way attitude isn't what you want from a host.

I agree the Lady at the forge wasn't as bad as her husband, however she seemed to think saying she was doing the best she could was the same as changing the things that were wrong.

Evian - Yeah I know but if anything it made me not want to look at trip advisor :-)
Didn't the bed-marker guy say he is a Trip Advisor "fanatic"? He said something like, if he's not using it to post reviews, he's just looking at it for "fun". Er... I think someone needs to get a life.

Actually, I wonder if he'd think the same of us ABers? :D
L O L Flip - what ever he calls himself, 'up his own bum' also fits well
i hardly take notice of trip advisor reviews, most of them seem to give a 1 star review if the weather was bad and their room didn't have an ironing board (even though they didn't need one, it is 'expected').
Question Author
There does seem to be a lot of nitpicking. People just doing their best to try and find the bad in something whether it's relevant or not.
I have only ever left good reviews on there. Well, apart from the one restaurant, but that really was awful. I think moaning about something so petty, whilst potentially damaging someones livelihood, is a bit twisted.
I never read trip advisor any more. I did used to read the reviews of where i was going overseas but most of the comments were ridiculous especially when you are only paying 250 quid for a week all inclusive. Like there was no champagne on arrival or the picture was a bit dated.

The bedding is quite hilarious for me, who changes their bedding every day or their their towels every other day.

I had to stop watching after 20 minutes
Question Author
Too right Jimmy.

I wouldn't expect to get my bedding changed every day in a hotel and if I needed it done for a medical reason I would take it upon myself to ask the hotel to do this (not just assume they have mental access to my medical records) but I would probably expect to pay extra for this too. It would cost a fortune for hotels to change all the bedding every single day.
Jimmy, I've used Trip Advisor in the past, but don't think I'll bother in future. I did actually go somewhere, despite it having some awful reviews on there, and had a great time. It was nothing like I'd been lead to imagine!
I think some people just like being nasty for the sake of it.
Same as me Flip

I've eaten in nice restaurants and stayed in decent hotels all over the world and the majority of the reviews I've read of places I have stayed have been rubbish.

Some people really need to get a grip/life

Like moaning that they haven't had a maid in the room every day - just make your own bed and don't make a mess
